Shobop + WGACA

Leave it to Shopbop to make buying vintage quick and easy. What Goes Around Comes Around is a vintage store with locations in New York and L.A. A private label line with the same name was started recently and is sold in boutiques and department stores, but previously you could only find authentic vintage pieces at their stores. Until now............Shopbop has started selling WGACA vintage on their website. They currently have jewelry, bags, and apparel. They have alot of great stuff, here are some of my favorite pieces: Chanel Vinyl Tote $2860, Neil Young 86' Concert Tee $198, Pretenders 81' Concert Tee $198, Chanel Pink Stone Bracelet $1050, and my absolute favorite but sadly sold out, Guns N Roses Concert Tee.

StyleCaster

My favorite new website is StyleCaster. I read about it from NY magazine's The Cut. StyleCaster has been around for a while but they are coming out with a new version this December that is supposed to be even better. I find something new on this website everyday. StyleCaster is a virtual community geared towards the fashion world. Log into your homepage and you get an updated weather forecast for your area along with suggestions for what you should wear for the day. Customize your newsroom by choosing articles that interest you the most. Choose items from the StyleCaster wardrobe to create your own virtual closet. My favorite part so far is the inspiration board. You can upload pictures and StyleCaster incorporates these into a concept board of your favorite things. You can also connect with other StyleCaster members and there is even an events page to inform you of upcoming sales! What a great website, if facebook and style.com had a baby, this would be it!

My New Favorite Store: Suite Orchard

Suite Orchard
I stumbled upon this boutique while on a vintage shopping mission in the Lower East Side. This store caught my eye with its lavender striped walls and jet black armoires packed with pieces from Sonia by Sonia Rykel and Rag & Bone. The store is owned by two sisters who also design their own private line, Soni & Cindy. I basically wanted everything in this store. These girls have great taste and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend it. They also have the cutest french bulldog that greets Suite Orchard's customers. Bonus points awarded for cute dogs.

VHS or Beta The September Issue
I first heard this band's music in "The September Issue", the documentary that follows Anna Wintour and her Vogue staffers while they produced the largest issue in history, the September 1997 issue. Download "Burn It All Down", this song has a great 80s Duran Duran/Flock of Seagulls sound to it. If you haven't seen it yet, "The September Issue" is an awesome fashion documentary. While we all know Anna Wintour is cold and heartless and of course this is what you see of her in the film, we also get in inside look at the relationship between Anna and Grace Coddington, Creative Director for Vogue. I didn't know much about Grace until I saw this movie and this is when I really started to like her. I appreciated her courage to stand up to Wintour in order to bring more fashion to the magazine and less celebrity worship. Grace believes fashion is an artform and I applaud that.

FIRST POST ON MY NEW BLOG!

When I decided to begin writing a blog, I was set on the subject of fashion. For those of you that know me this is definitely obvious. I have made a career out of fashion and I enjoy conversing on said topic. So of course, a fashion blog. As I brainstormed topics I realized there is more to fashion than just fashion. Fashion is a reflection of what is current in our daily lives. It is art, music, literature, politics, the economy, and so on and so on. So I came to the conclusion that I would write a fashion blog but the topics will vary and intermingle from time to time on everything that encompasses this fashion world that we live in. I started this blog as a commentary on what I feel is the spirit of the times. I also wanted to keep in touch with my family without using facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. My love of fashion was cultivated by my family, and I will mention them in this blog from time to time. When I was little, my aunt and mom would drag me to the mall every saturday and I would trail along wearing my best esprit ensemble, forming opinions that would be my foundation for my love of clothes. With that said I invite you to view my blog, PRADASCHMADA. I hope it is a place that will spark conversation or just give you a good laugh.
